You Can Unlock Your iPhone Without Pressing the Home Button
With the release of the new Apple update iOS 10, the 'slide to unlock' message from the iPhone screen has disappeared. Instead, the lock screen asks iPhone users to press the home button to gain access to their data and apps. This means that the users cannot just rest their finger on the home button to unlock their device using their fingerprint.
But this can be changed. Users can unlock their iPhones without pressing down on the home button. For this, the setting which allows TouchID to unlock your iPhone must bet turned on. To do this, you have to go to Settings > Touch ID & Passcode > iPhone Unlock.
After that, follow these steps:
Tap “Home Button.”
Press the switch next to “Rest Finger to Open” to turn this function on. This will make it so that you can open your iPhone with TouchID by resting your finger on the home button rather than pressing it.
