The Moto M was launched in China last month. Now, Motorola has sent out invites for a launch event being held in Mumbai on December 13. The Lenovo owned brand is planning to unveil its latest smartphone Moto M at the event. The invite comes with a tagline, “Mesmerizing, masterful, majestic (just like you),” followed by a sketch of a smartphone’s back panel.
The sketch shows a circular fingerprint scanner and a pill-shaped camera module which confirms that the smartphone is none other than the Moto M.
The Moto M boasts a metal unibody design. It features a 5.5-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) display with 2.5D curved glass. It runs a MediaTek Helio P15 quad-core processor clocked at 2.2GHz and paired with Mali T860MP2 GPU and 4GB of RAM. The device comes with an internal storage of 32GB, which can be expanded up to 256GB using a microSD card.
On the camera front, the Moto M is equipped with a 16-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, dual-tone LED flash and PDAF support, whereas, there is an 8-megapixel selfie camera. The smartphone is powered by a 3,050mAh battery with Turbo Charging support, and connectivity options like dual-SIM support (hybrid setup), 4G with VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS, USB Type-C port, NFC, and 3.5mm audio jack. On the software front, the smartphone runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, but is expected to soon be updated to Android Nougat.
The Moto M is among the first Motorola smartphones with a fingerprint scanner placed at the back. The smartphone is the built-in Dolby ATMOS support, and comes with a water-resistant nano coating that can save the phone from an accidental splash of water.
The Moto M is available in China for a price of RMB 1,999, which is approximately Rs 19,700.
