This makes Flipkart the first Indian e-commerce platform to cross the 100 million registered users mark and that too in a span of 6 months which is worth taking note of.
In a statement, the company said, "As of now, Flipkart’s registered customer base stands at around 63 percent of entire wireless and wireline broadband connections in India."
Binny Bansal, CEO and Co-Founder, Flipkart further added, “This is a small step in our efforts to build a platform that provides quality products accessible and affordable to millions of Indians shopping online.”
This means the e-commerce giant will have to make extra efforts in logistics and shipping especially with their ‘Big Billion Day Sale’ schedules to start from October 2 till October 6. In order to prep for this, the company is planning to hire over 10,000 temporary staff to increase its delivery and logistics service during the sale period and also with the festive season round the corner.
