For all those BlackBerry fans, this may be your last chance to use a smartphone made completely by BlackBerry. The Canadian phone maker is out with its latest Android smartphones, DTEK60 and the DTEK50 in India.
Both the smartphones come with the famous BlackBerry security feature known as 'DTEK by BlackBerry' app, which automatically monitors the operating system and apps and lets the users know when their data and its privacy could be at risk. Both also include the customizable BlackBerry Convenience Key, which can be quickly used as a Mute key during an ongoing voice call.
Additionally, BlackBerry apps like Keyboard, Hub, BBM, Services and Password Keeper and Standard Google apps such as Gmail, Hangouts and YouTube are already pre-loaded in the DTEK60 and DTEK50. They also come with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
BlackBerry DTEK60 features a 5.5-inch Quad HD IPS LCD display of 1440x2560 pixel resolution. It's powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, which is expandable through microSD cards of up to 2TB in size.
Major connectivity options of the device include 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC and USB Type-C. The device is powered by a 3,000mAh non-removable battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support.
On the camera front, the DTEK60 has a 21MP rear camera with phase detection autofocus and dual-tone LED flash which can also record 4K videos at 30fps and slo-mo 120fps videos in 720p resolution. The frobt camera is 8MP with Full HD recording capability is also included.
It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box.
Meanwhile, the DTEK50 is just 7.4mm thick and measures 147x72.5x7.4mm and weighs 135 gram. It features a 5.2-inch full-HD resolution, scratch-resistant display. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor, 3GB RAM and 16GB of inbuilt storage, which can be further expanded up to 2TB via a microSD card.
The BlackBerry DTEK50 sports a 13MP autofocus rear camera along with an 8MP front-facing camera. Both can record videos in full-HD resolution at 30 frames per second.
The connectivity features are same as that of DTEK60. It is powered by a 2610mAh battery and comes with Quick Charge 2.0 tech and is rated to deliver up to 17 hours of talk time.
The BlackBerry DTEK50 is priced at Rs 21,990, whereas DTEK60 costs Rs 46,990. Both the devices will be out for sale within a week.
